Planning logistics for a constrained London site
A planning-stage CLP for specialist replacement works beside strategic highways, where access, manoeuvring space and lifting interfaces required early review.
Discuss your projectThe brief
Establish a proposed access, routing and delivery strategy for a planning submission, while identifying the arrangements requiring further contractor and specialist development.
The constraints
Restricted access and internal turning space sat alongside major roads, existing infrastructure and tree-protection areas. There was no suitable local vehicle waiting space, and larger deliveries or lifting equipment could not be assumed to fit.
CLC's approach
The strategy proposed booked deliveries, call-forward controls and managed use of the existing access. It considered vehicle-size limits, principal-road routing and potential alternative loading or lifting arrangements, with separate approvals identified where needed.
Outputs
A planning-stage CLP and coordinated access, routing and site logistics information, covering delivery management, public-highway interfaces and environmental constraints.

Outcome and next stage
The project team received a logistics framework identifying the main constraints before final construction methodology was developed. Detailed swept path verification, final vehicle selection, specialist lift planning and any highway approvals remained further actions.
