What should a site logistics drawing show?
The drawing should make the proposed site arrangement clear enough for the project team to review how it will operate. Depending on the agreed scope, it can identify:
- Site boundaries, hoarding, vehicle gates and separate pedestrian entrances.
- Vehicle access and egress, delivery and unloading positions, and turning or reversing areas.
- Material storage, waste collection and routes between unloading points and the work areas.
- Proposed crane and hoist locations, with access and loading interfaces coordinated against the specialist information supplied.
- Welfare and compound areas, pedestrian routes and separation from vehicle movements.
- Marshal positions and delivery-control notes, including whether any holding space is actually available.
- Changes to access, loading or storage between construction stages.
The layout needs to show how these arrangements fit together. For example, a storage area should not obstruct the delivery route, and a welfare entrance needs a usable pedestrian connection. Unconfirmed dimensions and specialist design interfaces are identified for further coordination.

What is a site logistics plan?
A site logistics plan is a drawing showing how construction activities share the available space: vehicle and pedestrian access, loading, storage, waste, welfare and plant locations. It helps the project team coordinate a workable arrangement for the proposed construction stage.
Is it the same as a Construction Logistics Plan?
A site logistics drawing illustrates the physical arrangements. Our written Construction Logistics Plans explain the wider delivery strategy, routing, programme and management measures required by the project brief or planning condition. A drawing can support a CLP, but does not automatically replace the required written report.
What information should I send?
Send the latest site or architectural drawings, site address, proposed works, access constraints and programme. Include any planning condition or tender brief. Where details are not confirmed, we identify assumptions and the information needed to develop the layout.
Can you show different construction phases?
Where agreed in the scope, separate layouts can show how access, loading, welfare and storage change through enabling works, demolition and main construction. The number of phases and drawings is confirmed with the fee.
Will I receive a PDF drawing?
Yes. CAD-based drawings are issued as annotated PDFs for review and coordination. Drawing scales, sheet sizes and any additional file formats are agreed for the project.
Do you work on constrained London sites?
CLC supports London and UK projects. On constrained London sites, layouts consider limited storage, neighbouring access, public footways, cyclists and the interface with the highway. Proposed highway arrangements remain subject to the relevant approvals; the drawing itself does not grant permission to occupy or control the highway.

For specialist replacement works beside strategic highways, CLC prepared a planning-stage CLP with coordinated access, routing and site logistics information. Restricted turning space, tree-protection areas and a lack of local vehicle waiting space shaped the proposed delivery strategy.
The work identified arrangements requiring further contractor and specialist development, including final vehicle selection, swept path verification, lifting plans and highway approvals.
